Dip Molding

Dip molding is a method to produce flexible thermoplastic products at low costs. The used material (vinyl) is very suitable to make complex shapes in various colors. Dip molding is also very interesting for small and medium quantities.



To make a special dip molded part, we first have to make a special tool (the male mould only) that will form the inside of the molding. The aluminum tools can be made as a casting, or on a cnc machine.

All tools will be bared up on a special frame and preheated before dipped into the liquid plastic sol. Depending on the heat of the tool and the dipping time you will get a certain wall-thickness. A wall-thickness from 4 up to 17mm is no problem.

After dipping, the frame will go into the second oven for curing the products. After cooling down all products and the tools in a water tank the products are stripped down from the tools using high pressure air.

Offered in many standard sizes, these flat rectangular caps and grips can be made to your exact length specification (in 5mm). Wall thickness, color and udometers are some of the other variances to choose from.
